How to Prepare for Your Ultrasound

Preparation depends on the type of vascular ultrasound being performed:

For leg or arm vascular ultrasounds: No special preparation is required.
For an abdominal vascular ultrasound: You may be asked to fast for 6 to 8 hours before your exam to reduce gas interference for clearer imaging.
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and avoid wearing compression garments unless instructed otherwise.
